Four Scarpetta Novels: The Last Precinct / Blow Fly / Predator / The Book Of The Dead (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
I just finished reading these novels and boy what a ride. I've read many of Cornwell's Scarpetta novels but never four in a row. I've never read them in order so these books put some order to the events I've read. The characters in the Scarpetta series never seem to have a relatively normal life. Sometimes, especially with Benton I catch myself skimming his parts of the stories. He's a little arrogant and intense. I enjoyed the books but am glad to be finished as they have occupied my life for the last few days. I found it hard to put the book down. Sometimes I get a little aggravated with Kay always being the victim of jealousy or rivalry from other Drs. Or even working colleagues. Lucy at her worse is really dislikable and Marino can try anyone's patience. You can tell ms. Cornwell has to put a lot of research into her novels but I wouldn't want to be in her head with these people.
