Free Four: Tobias Tells The Divergent Knife-Throwing Scene (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
*Does not count as a book for the year*Super quick read, like 13 pages of text. Found it on the internet when I realized it existed, to complete my reading in the Divergent universe. I'm confused why this story exists, and was apparently written before Four was published (?), but didn't make it into that collection. Maybe because it was already available free on the internet? Poor strategizing by Roth? Anyway it was nicely written, and gives a good second perspective to that one scene. I won't accuse this or Four of being on the level of Ender's Shadow in the Enderverse, but it's a nice complement to the series.
What do You think about Free Four: Tobias Tells The Divergent Knife-Throwing Scene (2012)?
I really love being able to see memorable scenes from the perspective of another main character and this case was no different. While Four's voice isn't really that different from Tris' I really liked being able to see what was going on in his head at this time. Obviously in Divergent, his face is a blank and you really don't know where he stands or what is going through his head so I loved being able to see a totally different side of things.

I love little things like this -- short pieces that show the other POV in a story. It's fascinating to read. While this one doesn't give us a whole lot of new information (which is why only 4 stars), it was fun to read. The sneak peek into Four's head was cool, and I look forward to reading more from his POV later. Anyone who enjoyed Divergent will enjoy this short piece, as it adds a little more depth to the story.
