Wow, I wasn't sure about this since it was about a gay couple. Granted, I loved Jace and wanted to know his story...the truth is...this was a love story. I'm married and straight, but I support gay marriage. To me...love is love. Having said this, I don't go out actively seeking gay romance novels because it just isn't my thing. I want to get lost in a male a female. I want to fall in love with the male character and pretend to be the female. I had no problem doing this in this book. I fell in love with mark and Jace. Really wonderfully written. I loved it. I'll admit it-I wasn't sure I wanted to read this. I loved Fading and Falling, but did I want to read the same story retold from a 3rd POV? So I downloaded the sample first. Didn't take more than half the sample to realize that yes, I most definitely wanted to read Jase's book, too. Even though Candace's situation affects Jase and is mentioned frequently, Freeing centers around Jase and Mark's journey and Jase's struggle for self-acceptance.
