Promise me one thing only: if God forbid the prophecy comes true—don’t you dare go on the chase on your own! No matter where I may be, you come and call me for help—and there is no debate on the matter! I will not allow you to go after Cole exposed and vulnerable. I hope I made myself perfectly clear?!” His eyes skewed me with much seriousness when he extracted a promise from me. I was aware that I would not be able to keep this promise, but I shook my head in affirmation anyway, hoping that there was a slight chance I would keep it somehow. After all, he wasn’t with me during the chase, I knew this was a mission I would embark on accompanied only by Violet.
