This was a funny story about a house cat who wanted to go outside on an adventure. One day he escaped and realized the outside wasn't as fun as he thought it would be and it was better to stay an indoor cat.My 6-year-old loved the outdoor adventure. He thought it was funny when Fuddles fell into the stinky birdbath (he was used to being pampered in the tub), he couldn't climb the tree, he started to take a catnap in the neighbor's flowers but was quickly interrupted by a big dog, he ran up the tree but fell and landed on the back of the dog who then ran him around the neighborhood. Age: Preschool-KindergartenAnimal: CatA typical story about a house cat that leave his home to look for adventure and the unknown. What he doesn't anticipate are his recently eaten pork chops weighing him down. This book has a great story with a clear beginning, middle, and end with just a touch of suspense. It gets an extra star for the clear, emotion-filled illustrations (reminded me of Marla Frazee) that match up perfectly with the story.
