Castor was a city of constant movement, and even when she was alone, there was always some kind of hustle and bustle outside her windows. Right now? She heard nothing but silence. The conversation she'd had with Revi and Gaelan was still looming large in the back of her mind; she was pregnant. She was having a baby with two aliens and she could never go back to Earth. Just the phrasing of those sentences sounded foreign in her mind. But despite the lingering fear over her current situation, she couldn't shake the feeling that something else was wrong right now. Feeling restless, Jane decided to slip into one of the less elegant dresses she found in her closet and go for a walk to clear her head. However, once she was out the door of her bedroom and in the hallway, it was even more obvious... It was far too quiet. The hallways of the palace were lit only by that strange floating candlelight; it must have been later in the evening than she realized.
