I could not put this quirky silly book down. Georgia Bottoms is a thirty something southern beauty with too much on her plate - a failing mother, a deadbeat but good hearted brother, juggling "clients" 6 nights a week, and best friend for life, Krystal, who might have more in mind than just friendship. All of this takes place in a tiny Alabama town where everyone knows everyone and secrets are hard to keep!I wanted to dislike Georgia for her shallow ways and poor decisions, and "it's all about me" attitude, but I couldn't. There was something very endearing about her (to me anyway). She gets things done because she's always relied on just herself to do them. She maintains a mostly positive attitude throughout all of her trials and tribulations and one blockbuster surprise - and in typical Georgia fashion, sort of lands on her feet. I read this book in just two days because I couldn't wait to see how Georgia turned her life around. I wasn't disappointed. This book is laugh out loud funny at times and tragically sad the next, but always entertaining. It's a quick read so check it out! Honestly, this book was just kind of...well..kind of nothing. It was a fast read and reminded me quite a bit of the classic beach brainless summer reading. I didn't not like it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it either. I'm not a book snob, but I feel like one when I say this book just wasn't good enough to stand up to the usual type of books I read, and I don't read the great classics either. I wish I had better words for this review, but I just don't.
