This was a much shorter book than I expected. Jay Hinshaw is a bartender at Bryan's Bar. Bryan is a former parole officer whose bar is made up of ex-cons and generally people who deserve a second chance. Patrick Graves, a police officer, walks into the bar and Jay instantly recognizes an intensity about him. Since this story is so short, there's really not much I can say without basically spoiling the whole thing. The characters were good, the romance was quick and intense, and there's a HFN conclusion. There wasn't a lot of time for true character development but if this is a prologue for a longer novel I would definitely be interested in reading more about these characters and other characters from Bryan's bar. Holy Crap! This story was HOT, HOT, HOT! The attraction between the characters is immediate and intense. For a short story, it really grabs your attention. Maybe a sequel to show us how this cop and ex-con end up working it out? Pretty please? I was sorry to see that there was not specific HEA or even HFN spelled out. However, I read some comments from the author which lead me to beleive the HEA should be assumed.
Entertaining easy read with good characters and intriguing plot. Nice, but short, holiday read.
