Good Strategy Bad Strategy: The Difference And Why It Matters (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
This book seems a lot longer than necessary. It is full of examples where the author looks back on events and determines that he was right at the very beginning and that his strategy was (or would have been) best for the client. Meh. Other stories presume a certain strategy existed because success was achieved by some measure. Again - meh.Overall, I felt like I got some good nuggets from the book. Ways to think about problems, what else to consider, etc. No-nonsense, back to basics: what is strategy and what it is not. What surely is a bad strategy - and what could be a good one? If you are tired of jargon which may (or may not) be well meaning, and have a feeling that you are not the only one in the room who has not a faintest idea of what is being discussed and why, this is a book for you. Next time, maybe you will raise your hand and ask the question: yes, very nice discussion - but how are we going to do it? Now I know the goal, may we discuss the path, please. What are we actually going to do? May I have the answer in English, please...
What do You think about Good Strategy Bad Strategy: The Difference And Why It Matters (2011)?
This is a remarkable book in strategy. None has been as comprehensive as this book.
