I wonder what urged me to go out of my way and purchase this book. If you are unfazed by Junji Ito and the like, the visceral artwork and plain-faced grotesqueness of the content matter in Goth is right up your alley. Enjoy it with a glass of bourbon and a vomit pail. While not as psychologically stirring as Ito's work, this manga holds its own in the world of horror mystery manga. The plot gets convoluded nearing the end, however. This is more of a guilty pleasure than an actual investing read. Otsuichi shows the real deal with this story. I never really understood what Goth meant. How can I especially with the way people easily brand others nowadays? The stereotype Goth was those who wear dark-colored clothes, are fond of the occult, and have a dark perspective in life. But the Goths in this manga were different.Open your mind to the darkness found in others... the darkness that can lurking nearby you...
Fabulously dark and brilliant, I could not put it down, and have reread several times.
