His breath wafted across her cheek. His steely gaze never left hers. She wanted to blink, but thought that might mean he’d won. What he won, she wasn’t sure. He’d made it clear that it wouldn’t be her heart. Her body for sure. At least, he was sure. Riley had never kept emotion out of the equation. She’d always at least felt an affection for whomever she slept with. She picked up her glass then swallowed some wine. “I wouldn’t dream of it.” He shifted away from her. “Good. This is going to happen, Riley. We’re two adults, attracted to each other. Working closely day in and day out. It’s inevitable. You can resist and make this harder. Or you can give in and enjoy the ride. I promise. It’ll be worth it. I’m good at sex.” Her mouth went dry so she sipped some more wine to slake her thirst. Somehow she didn’t think she was thirsty for wine. Maybe she was thirsty for him.
