4 Took A While Stars...., I took a while to warm to the heroine, Charlie, in this book. In fact, I nearly ditched it at one point because I couldn't get into the story. However, I haven't DNF'd a book yet so I stuck with it and I'm so glad I did. The author tackles the very real, scary , devastating and worrying subject of date rape , specifically in the College Setting. This leads to the book's dark side and it is portrayed very well . So, although there is a serious story here, there is also the very intriguing alliance that develops between Charlie and the gorgeously written Knox Jagger ( fantastic name!) .He saved the story for me. I instantly liked him whereas Charlie takes time to warm up to ..Having said that, by half way through I found myself really liking her and thought her and Knox had some awesome banter between them plus their attraction was intense. But Knox has a dark past and things are not always what they seem. I would have preferred an epilogue and felt it ended quite quickly. The dark elements of the story were well balanced against some funny and witty light ones. At 85% I knew my heart was gonna be broke in the last 15% I just hope that it will be mended as well.Jagger Knox is everything you would think of a typical bad boy. Charlie Chase is a brass tell it like it is chick. She is a loner, and she prefers it that way. When Jagger strikes up a conversation with her at a party, she's a bit taken back but she's not going to fall for his charm. When she turns out to be her savior she knows there's more to him than meets the eye. This unlikely pair begin a union that is based on keeping Charlie safe, but quickly develops into more. Just when Charlie thinks she knows Jagger things are thrust in front her to question what she believes. This is the beginning of the shitstorm that follows. When all Jagger's secrets come out, they have to figure out if they can rebuild what they had or if it will be too much for Charlie to bare. Some hot sex scenes nothing detailed or too raunchy. Great ending.
