Have I Told You (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

3.5 stars The synopsis of this book had me intrigued and I couldn't wait to get started. Sabrina is a college student studying dance and is in a horrible relationship. Caston sees her at one of the recitals and is immediately entranced with her. One fateful night a couple of months later, they finally meet and the intense attraction is present. From then on, the wild ride begins. It didn't take long for these two to burn up the sheets and it was hot. But there were also real feelings involved. They truly cared and loved each other. It wasn't just sex for these two but so much more. However, relationships are never easy and Caston and Sabrina have their share of rough times. When a family member tries to screw up their love, Caston and Sabrina do their all to stay together. Does it work? You will have to read to find out. I felt for Sabrina. After everything she has been through in her life, she wanted to get the sensation of actually being loved. And Caston showed that to her. They were such a great couple together. I definitely can see the love there. Caston is not without his share of secrets and when they come to light, I can truly say that I was not expecting it. But the love shown between the two is incredible. F.L. Jacob had me intrigued until the very end. There were some shocking twists and turns that made the story that much more good. I'm interested to see how the story plays out in the next book. Not my cup of tea. The writing style at the start was shaky, but it did improve a lot after a few chapters, I believe early on he chatted to two young ladies and when he turned and walked away their legs wobbled. The visual imagery of that made me laugh. Not in a nice way I am afraid. Castons relationship with his brother was icky , a bit too close. The same with his sister in law. It was a bit too 'keep it in the family'. I nearly DNF'd it around that point. When Serena suddenly started being very curious and experimental, totally out of nowhere, I just thought well its lucky she chose the right female, part of the inner circle. It was just a little weird and out of nowhere for me.When they got on that plane and things started to happen I decided to definitely DNF it, which I did for a few days, then I decided I should in all fairness finish it, but to be honest I am not invested in this story at all. Also everytime the sister in law said she had no regrets about her relationship with Caston ending because she now had two wonderful children I just kept feeling sorry for the brother. Why didn't she say she had no regrets because she had met and fell in love with him? I was left with the feeling she might drop brother in a heart beat if Caston wanted her back. (After all they had been very much in love before a conniving third party broke them up) The writing did get better as it went on though, just the storyline was too much for me,
