A good addition to one of my favorite romance series, but not my favorite book in the series for sure. I really took a while to warm up to Jace & while I finished the book liking him well enough, I wished he made more obvious progress in dealing with his issues & actually admitted his faults and apologized to Glyssa. I also found Lepid to annoy me quite a bit, even though I usually like the Fams. I suppose in both cases the characters often showed little remorse for their actions that caused problems for Glyssa and that colored my opinion of the book. I'm certainly not going to stop reading the Celta series just because this book wasn't my favorite however. I look forward to more. My Thoughts:Jace the adventurer let his past effect his present relationships as so many people do. Someone he loved betrayed him. Who is that person? :)Glyssa gave into Jace's "no strings attached" relationship for a while. I was glad she finally put her foot down. It shows strength when a woman can tell a man, "I want something more from you".The plot kept my interest. I was asking myself as I read the book “What is going to happen next?"The world building is so much fun in this series. My favorites are the Fam animals. Fam animals are sentinel beings that are able to communicate. In addition, the whole Heartmate concept is so romantic. That kind of bond is something I hope our culture achieves someday. :)Robin D Owens put just enough adventure, romance & awesome world building to make an excellent book.
