3.5 or 3.75.Liked that Ellie and Jackson actually talked to each other, more than once, when some sort of conflict/issue/situation arose between them. Also, that Ellie remained plain, without having some sort of magical makeover revealing hidden physical beauty, because let's face it, that's just how it is sometimes.Could have done without the frequent and incorrect use of the word "quipped." Elvira finds herself desperate for a good reference so that she can become a housekeeper and move out of her cousins home. Pastor Shore has asked if she could help out a grieving widow with two small boys for two weeks. She does but of course she runs into trouble by not knowing how to use the indoor oven properly and two lovable yet rambunctious boys not to mention there father. Before the two weeks are even up, the father, Jackson, ask her to marry him not out of love but desperation himself. I enjoyed this tale because she struggles a lot with trying to make her everything better. As we sometimes learn it is better to just pray about and let it go whichever way the good Lord sends it. LOVED IT!!
What do You think about Hearts Awakening (2010)?
Very good book. I like that the main female character's beauty is from within.
