I loved this book. Great chick flick fun, which I hadn't read for a while. About a Pasadena widow who finds out her husband was cheating on her and lost all their money so she has to get a job and re set up her life. Liked that is took place in Pasadena so I recognized the places and schools and attitudes :) Super cute ending that left me wishing for more. I could see this as a movie. I saw it somewhere listed as a great beach read, and it would be. Just fun, page turning, fun. I really enjoyed this book. The mix of the archaeology professor/museum with the mommy politics angst of the upper class made for an entertaining read. I found myself relating to the story a lot...especially concerning the trade-offs of life decisions. The book made me remember why I enjoyed listening to the Satellite Sisters when they were on XM and reading Lian's column in Working Mother. The only thing I would change is the last few pages. I was disappointed that the book was over. (I guess that's a good thing.) But I do wish that the last few lines were more memorable. Great for a first novel.
Kind of amazing. Super accurate, and critical without being mean.
