Het Lot Van Nora Lindell (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I read this because it came up as "similar to The Virgin Suicides," an apt comparison if there ever was one. Unfortunately, this comparison also set a high bar to clear. -Very slow and meandering.-The author treats time in a way that does not lend itself to casual reading. I would recommend reading this in one sitting.+Large cast of characters that are all at least minimally developed.Overall, I would recommend it. It's not an amazing book but it's definitely above average. This book centers on a group of high school boys and their collective fantasies about what happened to a girl from their class who went missing on Halloween the year they were 16. The narrator is the collective "We," who discusses various scenarios from death to a new life in Arizona with several children. I found the story very disjointed and without a purpose. The collective narrator point of view also made the story very hard to follow. It was more stream-of-consciousness writing than a cohesive story. If I need to work this hard to follow a story, I need to be much more engaged. Sadly, none of the characters in this story, with the exception of the missing girl, Nora, were at all memorable or engaging.

What do You think about Het Lot Van Nora Lindell (2011)?

I liked this book, mainly because it is different and disjointed and odd. Like us and our memories.

I could not read more than a couple of chapters. Story is seen through the eyes of a teen-age boy.
