Xander hates this Art events, but because he hosts them he has to be there, but he doesn’t have to enjoy them. If everyone leaves him alone he can get through the night just fine.Ashley Monroe is homeless and jobless sleeping on her friends couch until she can get on her feet again. She even got her this one job, and if she does well she can continue to work. The only thing that will stop her from this new beginning is the man in the corner that everyone has warned her to stay away from. After approaching Xander, she finds him needy. He wants to speak with her, and maybe a little more. Finding herself seduced by this enigmatic man it opens the door to all the lavish ways of life. Although this novella was typical in its formula I like the fact that the main character was depicted as beautiful despite being a size 16 and self conscious about her weight. This alone deserves a high rating as Rhodes chose to use a normal sized character. Don't get me wrong...there is also the typical cliche of the billionaire hunk to keep the fantasy portion in check. I will probably read the rest of the series.
