Hold Me Closer, Necromancer (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I really like this book. I think the title should change. Overall it is a wonderful book that will make you laugh and laugh and it is a bit scary. When I looked at the cover I did not want to read it but don't judge a book by its cover. After much consideration (about 15 seconds) I finally gave it a go. I read the book and I loved it. It is an outstanding book, It talks about a college dropout boy named Sam and what do you know . He quickly find out he has powers but his powers are not that strong. He then finds out he has a crazy wicked opponent he has to face and his opponent's powers are overwhelming against Sam. With Sam and his new werewolf friend and his crew will he be able to face his opponent and somehow win or will he lose? This book is really funny and scary. This book for some apparent reason made me crave waffles. This is a funny and a scary book. If you liked this book then you should read the second book and who knows what will happen; will he lose his friends, his powers or will his deadly opponent come back alive? If you like to eat waffles and want to read a scary, funny book then you should read this book. This is a must read. This book is a really funny, scary book. Praise for Lish MCBride and her books. Hold Me Closer Necromancer By Lish McbrideI thought this book was okay, kindve wavering between ok and good. The book had some very good ideas, the only problem was the execution of these ideas. The drama at times felt rushed and some of the arcs in the book I thought should have spanned longer in the book. The action sequences while not bad, were honestly a little empty. Good points of this book were the theme and the plot, i loved the theme of necromancers and how it would be dealt with in everyday life, how Sam a younger necromancer had to take on a veteran older necromancer. Scenarios like this are always a favorite of mine. Overall my general opinion on this was it was a good idea flawed by execution. If youre interested in this kind of theme I would recommend this, but if youre looking for any kind of book you can pick up and enjoy from the get go without a little mental "preparation" then Im not sure this book would be the best choice.
