This is not normally the type of book that I read much of or really like very much because it fell short in connecting me to the characters. I usually like books with more normalcy or realism and a little more build up. But despite my usual preference I have to admit that I found this book entertaining and I liked the ideas for the plots (there are several story lines to fit all the brothers) and the characters. I did not read the first book in the series but had no trouble keeping up or understanding the characters at all. Although I found the dialogue to be really, really OTT and the lack of realism for most of the situations were just pure fantasy, it was a nice fantasy because ...well who wouldn't want to be the focus of all that was Jacob? I mean really! He was OTT in the best possible ways! However, having said that, I can't help but miss what could have been a much deeper read for the main plot. I wanted more realism because it lacked the emotional attachments that the reader gets when the build up is timed right and the dialogue and character reactions are more realistic. I love this author's ideas for plots and the idea of a whole family of alpha brothers was very intriguing, and always enjoyable! I honestly don't even know where to start with this book. I pretty much hated everything about it, but I think the worst was the way they talked, it just got on my nerves so much that I wished I was the kind of person who can just skip pages or paragraphs or not even finish the book at all.The basis of the book: virgin girl volunteers to be a surrogate for a couple, they doc manages to inseminate her without her losing her virginity but wait then they realize there was a mistake in the samples and she's not carrying the right baby. At this point the guy who was supposed to be the father shows his psycho tendencies and she runs away to save her baby and goes in search of the baby daddy. Cue insta love, loss of her virginity after just one look, a kidnapping and rescue and the revelation that the main hero is not really the father of the baby but all is good because he loves her and when the baby is born he looks just like him.AND... through all of that she manages to talk like a naive little girl who you would think from the way she talks that she's no more than a young teen with an infatuation for the man she has decided will be her savior and price charming when in reality he sounds like horny man that decides she's so beautiful that he's gonna keep her.Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this book...
