This is like the final chapter to Dangerous Lover. Jack Prescott and Caroline have now been married for a year. He is the typical alpha male who is overprotective and does not want to let her out of his sight. Jack is teaching his wife self defense but she draws the line with weapons.While at work Caroline is reading to the children a sicko decides to take one of the children captive holding him hostage by the throat with a k-bar knife. Caroline speed dials Jack and yells to the man.... The lady across the street call 911 and the heat is on... I thought this was a great addition to Dangerous Lover, the first book in LMR's Dangerous series. At the end of Dangerous Lover I wanted more and this gave a view into Jack and Caroline's life after marriage. In Hot Secrets a disturbed stepfather shows up at the homeless shelter where Caroline is volunteering and she has to not only stay calm under intense pressure, but use the training she's learned from Jack. For such a short read there was a nice balance of danger and sexiness. And with Jack, there was definite sexiness. If you're already a LMR fan or like the Dangerous trilogy you won't want to miss this one.
