How To Capture A Countess (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Rating 2.5/5It's funny, I'll admit to that. And Rose was quite a forward 17th century heroine. But, I think I've grown fond towards working male leads...throughout the entire book all I could think about was how Sin did nothing but ride/play/scowl/pout/whine/argue. I also didn't like the fact that even though Rose had been night riding for two weeks, Sin didn't trust her enough to have a safe ride. Even the groom believed in her capabilities (and he is the professional, he should know horses), but Sin, thinking himself a better judge, didn't agree and was very rude to the man. Makes him look like a jerk.A very different life the aristocrats have had, I must say. This book was one of many that I read on a 17 hour car ride down to Florida from Pennsylvania. I have to say it was actually quite enjoyable. I love the interaction between both Rose and Lord Sinclair (Lord SIN - it truly does just roll off the tongue doesn't it ;) hahaha ). Anyway, in addition to that, I found that I also loved the pugs. I felt like they could have a story all to themselves, but then again I am an animal lover - truly enjoyed them. Overall, I enjoyed this book and had looked forward to reading the stories of the younger two Balfour women.

A light, fun read. You can generally guess what's going to happen, but that's okay!
