Oh, Charlie & Jammer. What to say about these two crazy kids & their story? It wasn't quite what I expected, but it was very good! Charlie's had a crap life & when she inherits a bar from her previously unknown father, you'd think that would be a good thing. Eventually it is a great thing, but at first it just heaps more problems on her already problem-filled life. Along w/ the bar, she inherits custody of a 4 year old brother. Insta-mom! She does a pretty good job with everything once she gets her head out of her butt. Jammer was an unexpected delight of a tattooed pool player. : ) My only real complaint is that I don't think the thing that tore them apart for parts of the story was really necessary. I think it would have been a much better story (for me) if Jammer had just been honest w/ her from the beginning & they could have worked through stuff together instead of him trying to fix everything before telling her. But, I always think that! : ) I think this was one of the not o good books I've read this year. The first 70% of it were so stupid and the rest wasn't that better either.Charlie's and Jammer's relationship was somewhat devoid of that spark. I didn't feel their chemistry. The inner monologue kept trying to hint to it but I couldn't feel it unfortunately. And for all the talk about how Charlie was so different from the other girls who slept with Jammer from the first day she wasn't all that different, oh yes, she slept with him on the second day :))))This book has not convinced me and I will give the author another chance with one of her stand alone books. Maybe things get better.
