This book is truly amazing and inspiring. It includes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's entire I have a dream speech. It pairs this with a variety of beautiful illustrations. Each image is paired with a different portion of the famous speech. Each illustration has a unique style different from the next and representing different cultures. The cover presents this book perfectly, both symbolizing a revolutionary idea. This is such a great idea and it is perfect for kids to learn about civil rights. Not only do they get to read the actual speech, but the illustrations make it perfect for kids to understand. This is one of my favorite historical children's books. The illustrations allow the reader to fully grasp what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was saying during his famous, I Have a Dream speech. This book was made for children so that they could understand his speech in a way that was geared to a younger population of readers. Obviously, this book would be fun to read before/after our Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, but I also think this book would be important to read before I assign a project that includes my students giving a speech.
