Topic: Concept and informational booksTheme: Learning colors and sequenceMy thoughts: A fun book to read with young kids. Activity: A great interactive way to use this books is to create a flannel board or magnetic board of the piggy and have the students add each color piece to the piggy as he gets into each mess in the story. I would also create color signs that would work with in a large group because you could have students volunteer to stand in-line by color order, and each time the story telling came back to that their assigned part I would have the students shake their sign. This would help reinforce sequence for preschoolers. The older students would just think it is fun! This is a simply comedy filled book that has one silly pig running wild for fun around the county fair. This book is simple for young children to read and is filled with very bright colors that are described on each page. It helps children learn their colors in a fun imaginative way. The little story behind this book tells a great one and is a lovely book for little readers to enjoy for a good laugh!
