The Paradise Prophecy was a pretty good book. Although, I wasn't to fond of the idea that God doesn't care and have just given up on his own creation. I understand it is fiction and the notion wouldn't bother non-religious people. But it was a bit much for me personally. I am a reader who grasp that fiction is just that. Even the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons are controversial, but not to me. But the representation of God in this book is a bit disturbing. Other than that I liked reading this book for the most part. I thought the conclusion was a little cheesy though. And in the beginning (bear w/ me it's been a while since I've read this book). One of the fallen angels purchased something (can't recall specifics maybe something nuclear), but it was suppose to be able to destroy a major city or a wide circumference. Nonetheless, it was brought up in the beginning and never was mentioned again. I don't know if Browne forgot that detail he added or what, but it did leave me wondering.I did like the main characters. Although, a human beating a drudge up seemed far fetched. A lot of people like to compare this book to the Robert Langdon trilogy (Dan Brown) I don't see a corrolation. You can easily like this book and despise the Robert Langdon trilogy or vice versa. They are not that parallel by any means. Please forgive this scatchy review. Like I said it has been awhile since I've read the book. Angels and demons (who are really fallen angels) are in a race against time for dominance. As their battle plays out on earth, a secret government agent and a disgraced college professor are trying to unravel the clues to the violence and destruction occurring around the world. When they finally realize there is something supernatural going on and it is tied to Milton's Paradise Lost, the demons are on the verge of defeating the Archangel Michael. This is a fast paced thriller. I like the ties with Paradise Lost, however I confess I'm not crazy over this type of book. I read this for a book club. It was good, but not really my cup of tea.
What do You think about I Sei Custodi (2012)?
I liked it, a pretty good read, pardon the pun.
