I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I think Cora Harrison accurately depicts what Jane Austen's childhood would have been like. I loved all of the characters in this book, in particular the main character, Jenny. This book really captured the essence of the 1700's and I now want to read all of Jane Austen's books! (I haven't yet). There's not really much more I can say about this book without giving too much away, other than the fact that I loved every minute of it and couldn't put it down. So, yes I would definitely recommend this book, especially to those who are fans of historical fiction. :) Where do I start? My Grandma bought me this book because of my adoration for Jane Austen, and I was not let down. After I finished this book, I sat for a good 20 minutes crying because of pure happiness. Set in 1971, where women were classy and sophisticated, and a happy ending was inevitable. I recommend that you read this book from the age of 14 and on wards to truly enjoy the language and context. This book has become a new favorite and I guarantee it will stay with me for a very long time.5/5 stars, flawless book by a flawless author.I am truly in love with this.
