I went with a 4 star rating on this one even though I think it is slightly high but there are sharks and dragons and lots of great repetition which is always a hit for a read-a-loud. Plus the illustrations were super cute. I just thought the story needed a little bit more to it but then again it is a picture book and I should try not to over think so I am going to be satisfied with the 4 star rating. A lot like Green Eggs and Ham for the reluctant reader, this book builds up insane circumstances to emphasize the child's dislike for reading only to have a simple solution like being read to be the key turning the kid's outlook around. I would have liked a bit more on the flip side like Seuss did after his character discovered that he did like Green Eggs and Ham, but this was still a good story, short and sweet.
A young boy makes excuse after excuse, and then insists that nothing can make him read this book!

The kid issues too many outrageous scenarios. Reading gets tedious half way through the book.

A cute story for reluctant readers...but I'm still not sure what the "point" of the book was.

Good fun to put a reluctant reader in the mood for story.
