Icebreaker (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I have not read all in this New York Blades Series but I do enjoy them. The story is well written with witty characters and it is a plus IMO whenever authors brings in previous characters. The plot moved along at a fast and steady pace. I liked this book a lot and thought it was an interesting read.On the downside, I thought Sineads' snap judgments which led to her always running away when things got tough were frustrating. Also, in the Epilogue it went to 3 years later and read that Sinead lived away from Adam and her daughter Monday through Thrusday's to work in the city while Adam lived in the country as a stay at home dad. I'm a stay at home mom and I find in hard to FATHOM staying away from my child.... Pretty good read, I'm kinda biased though as I love books that somehow involve hockey :) I do have a few beefs of inaccuracies (ie: the birthplace of hockey is the USA? WTF?? No.) or digs at small town Canada but it's not my book so I can deal with a few liberties by the author.By and large, I did enjoy the story of Sinead, a lawyer brought on to represent Adam Perry, a hockey star and captain of the fictional New York Blades. They both have intensely personal personalities but while that translated to their friends, to me, their real personalities translated well to me, the reader.I wish I had read the previous bunch of stories involving friends and/or family that popped up in the story however, it's nice to see so many of them still making an appearance in the book. Can't wait to read Breakaway which is on my to-read list!
