I'd Rather Be With You (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

****SPOILER ALERT!!!!**** I would have given it 5 stars but the plot twist with Loretta really threw me off and also it is another to be continued book and I don't like those. I thought this was the end of the series but it is just getting good! I have never read Mary B. Morrisons' books but I really like this series! Granville is so crazy you can really see him through her character development of him. Madison never ceases to amaze me with her narcissism although her father's antics lets you know that she got her ways honest! I was really glad to see Tisha more in this book being that she was barely in "If I Can't Have You". I really was real disappointed with the direction that Loretta took in this book but now I understand why see could be attracted to Granville... she is just as crazy as he is! I noticed, in this book, she was not as "churchy" as she was in the first. There was not one mention of her going home to pray at her homemade alter nor any mention of her going to church at all. She was truly consumed by her want of Chicago and hatred towards Madison. I can not wait to read "If You Don't Know Me" because I need to find out if that baby really is Chicago's... I have a feeling that it's not... Madison took Chicago off life support and thought he wld die right away but as a good fiction novel would have it, such was not the case. Tisha is the better friend than Madison or Loretta. Loretta shamelessly tried to get Chicago to fall in love with her. She is so jealous of Madison it's hard to imagine why they still considered each other friends. Loretta has mental problems and is just as delusional as Granville. Chicago and his entire clan are low key nutty. Can you imagine giving birth with your in-laws all in the room? The whole thing with everyone blaming everyone else for Chicago being shot is just silly. Only the person who shot him is responsible. Loretta blames Madison; who blames Loretta. Chicago and his clan hold Madison solely responsible. Chicago claims to love Madison so much but he still shows up at the hospital with legal paperwork. He's wishy washy to say the least. Can't wait to read the follow up story "If you Don't Know Me"
