This is the beginning of the Jason Kolarich series. Jason is a lawyer hired to defend a childhood friend who stands accused of killing his sister's murderer several years after the fact. He's happy to help an old friend - especially one like Sammy that he owes a real debt of gratitude to. Things become suspicious when the mysterious man who asks him to take the case only wants him to investigate certain aspects. This is isn't how Jason operates and soon he and his brother are in real danger. Another page turner from David Ellis. Great story. I liked the last book I read the David Ellis very much and chose The Hidden Man next. Although it started well as Jason Kolarich again is the attorney, this time representing Sammy, who is leading a rough life in jail, having been accused of killing Perlini. Jason has just weeks to prove that Perlini killed Sammy's sister Audrey. I am going to look for a legal novel by a different author from a list of recommended authors I have written down.
Un très bon polar. Se lit très facilement. On est rapidement pris dans l'histoire.

I didn't figure it out until Jason Kolarich figured it out. Good book!
