Il Sangue Nero Dei Romanov (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I did not do any research on this book and purchased it thinking it was a biography. I was lucky - it is fiction; very good, entertaining fiction. Once I started I could not put it down. It follows the "nanny" of the Romanov children who has a gem stone eye. She does not age and spends years searching for the hemophiliac son she believes survived. It is so well written that magic potions and spells seem plausible. Mossanen's descriptions of old Russia will transport you there. You will walk through dark forests, lush gardens, and palaces ripe with intrigue. Does she find the prince? You have to read the book. I downloaded this e-book as part of the Barnes & Noble NOOK Free Friday program.A good book about the end days of the Romanov dynasty in Russia, and the controversy over a possible survivor of the murders of the Royal Family. Told from the viewpoint of Darya Borisovna Spiridora, a distant cousin of the family, who spends her life waiting and wishing for a chance to reinstate The Last Romanov. Good research by the author keeps the reader's interest in the families and the splendor in which they lived.
