OK. It took me WAY too long to read this book. There were many distractions to completing it. Beginning of school, traveling, busy home life, etc. I actually really enjoyed the intelligence of this book. I loved the part science fiction, part magician, part love story, part mystery of it. It was woven together brilliantly by Frank Peretti, who continues to be one of my favourite authors of all time. The characters had great depth and garnered sympathy by the reader. The premise of the book was intriguing and intellectual. It's hard to read if you're tired or if you aren't able to concentrate for a long time, because there is a lot of theoretical science tossed around that you have to get your head around! Somehow a bit different than the former Peretti I've read... but in a mostly good way. It was refreshing to see him write a bit outside of his normal voice. Slow going at first-- read a chapter, put it down, wait a week, pick it up again, put it down. About halfway through I found it harder to put down. I'm glad I stuck it out and finished it. A good story, well worth reading, but somehow a bit outside the typical Peretti.
What do You think about Illusion (2012)?
A little hard to keep straight at first but then very good.
