A decent action packed paranormal book. The narrative had a distinct comic book feel to it with many of the paragraphs consisting of a single sentence or just a fragment. The romance style is the kind where the characters crudely think about what they want to do to each other without knowing anything about the other person other than they are hot. Some authors can pull this off, but this one just came across as forced to me. I didn't feel the chemistry between them and really didn't care if they got it on, much less whether they ended up happily ever after. The world building was fine, but the characters could have been more distinct. I like a lot of emotion in my books and this one was pretty lacking in that department. Since this is a prequel which often don't measure up to the rest of a series, I probably will checkout the next book in the series since my Public e-library has it. I'm not sure why this went the expensive trade-sized route as there is nothing boundary pushing about this one and certainly nothing to distinguish it from all of the more reasonably priced mass-market paranormal series. In Immortal Danger there are two characters sizzle off the page. Both characters have dominant personalities and this always can lead to amazing storytelling. I won't go into the details of the plot because there's already plenty of plot summary up, but I loved the heroine of this paranormal romance. She was the perfect mix of hard kick butt woman and just the right amount of sympathy/caring under her "angry" surface. The sex scenes didn't really all that connect with me, which was pretty unusual but other than that it was pretty HAWT! It's worth a read if you love vampire romance/erotica.
What do You think about Immortal Danger (2009)?
