Layla is now impressed with her parents memories in her mind and it makes for a pretty emotional reunion with her grandparents. She's getting to know her coven and learning magic, in addition to spending a lot of time with Quin, who absolutely adores her. Layla seemed kind of shy and skittish in the last book and although she still embarrasses easily and is a little insecure, she isn't as much this time around. She struggles with her independence because she has only had herself to rely upon for the last several years but with the family structure of the coven and the vulnerability of a visible aura, she is learning to slowly adapt to being able to rely on other people, especially since her presence might signal danger for everyone because of her uniqueness as a twice bonded child, indicating that she is a higher powered witch. The enemies who want her are looking for her and this creates a dilemma for Layla, who doesn't want anyone to sacrifice themselves at her expense. She is in between a rock and a hard place of determining if she should protect the coven by leaving or staying and allowing the others to look after her. Quin doesn't want to let her out of his sight and the mysterious Finley does not appear to be who he is despite his powers and abilities. So far Layla has demonstrated pretty good instincts about who to trust and hopefully these instincts will help keep her safe. These books are to good. Just the thing I've been looking for-a good book(s) to get lost in. So many things I want to know though.Who's this stranger? Is it Finely? He has that vibe of being the bad guy up to no good. But what's up with the epilogue? If it was Finely wouldn't he be in Layla's coven and not in a tent? Unless that's where they put him... GAH! I can feel his presence is going to put a rift in Quin and Layla's relationship. And that is the LAST thing I want to happen. Finally, when are Quin and Layla going to "do it" so I can see if they are bonded. I have a feeling they are and I want it happen asap. Plus what's up with his "dreams" he's been having before he met Layla? Why won't he tell her about them? Anyway. I love this book and the book before and will be reading the next.
What do You think about Impassion (2013)?
It was really a nice story. Quin is officially my new book boyfriend.
