Although the book ended well with plot-twists and compelling ideas about utopian communes and missing people, I found the first part of the book to be quite tedious. Autumn, the main character, was caught up in fickle romances that seemed juvenile considering she was 32... I had a hard time believing that nearly all the men she knew were her romantic interests, and even when faced with danger, they were all she could seem to think about. If she had spent less time worrying about which guy she should like and more time being involved in the mystery, I would have enjoyed this novel quite a bit more. My first venture into a non-teen fiction book. It was good. I enjoyed getting to know the characters as well as the story line. The necklace on the front looks exactly like one that I own. I hated thinking that people could treat others so cruley, but I do know that it exists in the world. The thought of forsaking shoes entirely is intriguing and sad all at the same time. I have a love/hate relationship with my shoes!
Slow start, but got alot better. At the end there were several twists that I didn't expect.

Just ok. A little too "far fetched" and contrived for my taste, but the idea was good.
