Wow, I really liked this one. 4.5 starsThis was my favorite in this series perhaps, well they are all good. I found the characters believable. They weren't all likable but fairly realistic. There was a bit of cliche to a few of them. I cared about the main couple Claire and Isaac. They both had lost family and had struggled with various issues. I'm glad they were finally brave enough to be honest with each other about things. That's probably where they lost a half point; I prefer when they are honest with themselves and their loved ones. This is both a modern murder mystery and an old one wrapped into each other. And there's a romance. Of course, I always prefer when there's some romance.Kissing, some sexual content not too detailed I have enjoyed this series. I'm not sure if it will continue, or if this was the ending book. I'm hoping it's not the last one because I really want to read Pretty Boy's story!I was expecting this book to be Pretty Boy's story, so I was slightly disappointed to learn it wasn't. Instead, Novak branched off into the "friends of the family" category by telling Claire's story and her 15 year long missing mother mystery.I did enjoy this one too, but it had a very slow start for me. Probably because I was so totally expecting it to be about Pretty Boy and then when it wasn't, I almost decided not to read it.What pushed me forward was because I got it from netGalley and I felt obligated to follow through so I could review it properly. I know, not exactly a great reason to finish a book, but hey, I'm actually glad I kept going.Once I really got involved with Claire and started to get attached to her and the story, I was hooked. By about page 150, the story picked up dramatically and it had a little of everything you could possibly want in a suspenseful mystery/thriller.So, in the end, I'm giving this one 3.5 stars. It wasn't quite as good as books 1 and 2, mainly because the ending was pretty much a flop for me, it took a really strange turn towards the end. Then I have to take a few points away because of the fact that it wasn't what I was expecting, for it to be Pretty Boy's story. I've read a lot of reviews about this book, and it seems most everyone expected it to be Pretty Boy's story. That was the natural progression. But, maybe Novak has an explosive book for him in store, who knows.I hope the series isn't over yet, and I would definitely read a book 4! Thanks to netGalley and Harlequin for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book for free!
What do You think about In Close (2011)?
Very suspensful. It kept me guessing almost to the end. I'm sad to see the end of this series.
