I would have given RISE AGAIN 5 stars if the writing had been better. There were many, many paragraphs throughout the book that I skipped just because they were too long winded. I also got tired of Denny, the main character and very tough cop, getting burned, cut, shot, and just generally maimed ALL THE TIME! The plot was great and the characters were well developed. And of course that last sentence of the book... wow! Worst zombie apocolypse book ever! I was intrigued by the first chapter, then it was all downhill for me after that. This book bored me so much that I had to speed read through the last 1/4 of it, only because by that time, I just wanted it to be over. And I was just not impressed whatsoever. I've read some really good zombie books and this one was really disappointing, especially when I went to great lengths to get this book because I really wanted to read it. The story was too long, way too detailed with things the reader didn't need to know and didn't care about. Basically, a girl left home, taking her drunken sister's Mustang. Drunk sister, who is the sheriff wakes up on July 4th and is pissed her car is gone. Zombies break out on this day and she spends the entire rest of the book not taking responsibility for the people who need help, but directing them toward the route she thinks her sister might have taken, not knowing if she is dead, alive, or zombie. Uninteresting, boring, and long.
What do You think about Infektion (2011)?
Definitely a good read, if your into the zombie genre. Suspenseful!! And nail biter at times.

One of my favorite zombie books! I wish there would be a continuation of this story . . .
