I'm struggling even giving this 3 stars after giving a well deserved 5 stars to the previous book. It was tough to get through and so far off the path content wise. From ghosts to a kangaroo big foot. The development of the story about Mitch was lame, predictable and fell flat. There were a couple moments that were the only reason to give it a 3 and mostly just because I've gotten so invested in the books. But after showing what she could do in book 5 it was a big let down. I can also say I'm quite upset after 6 books of relationship buildup at the final scene in the book. It was awful and hugely disappointing. Crossing my fingers for book 7. Once again, you only get a little love for a lot of angst and anger, but it's worth it. I wont lie, I was in a massive funk for a few days while I was reading this and the last book and it took me a while to realize it was because of the massive amount of heartache going on in the story. I think I took it a bit personally. Very interesting version of big foot, I still can't get a proper mental image of it for some reason. An of course, no wilderness story is complete without getting lost and having a psychotic rapist as a guide. Can't be too sad when he gets ripped to shreds.
I am currently obsessed with this series. Holy cow! Holy freaking cow! Off to buy the next one....
