He took a moment to check for threats before stepping out and exposing himself. The street appeared quiet. Trees full of lush green leaves swayed in a gentle breeze. The other parked cars ran the gamut from shiny and new to rusty and old, but there were more of the latter. Several doors down, a kid was practicing with a basketball and a portable hoop. A dog barked in the distance.Looks safe enough, he thought. He grabbed a bag of groceries from the passenger seat and got out.The front door of the white house stood ajar.
