In book #3, Sasha McCandless is thrown into the world of criminal defense. Her old firm (Prescott and Talbot) asks her to defend the husbands of two murdered partners at their firm. Of course they don't tell her everything, and she has to figure out her own cases as well as what they don't want her to know. I felt like this was the most well-developed of the 3 Sasha McCandless books, in terms of supporting characters and plot twists. It still seems like things come too easy for Sasha at times, but she had to struggle more. I was glad that she was smart enough to get some help with her murder trials, rather than just assuming she could do it all herself despite a lack of experience. This book was a good mix of legal wrangling, investigation, and the usual scuffles that Sasha seems to get into. It wasn't quite as exciting or as good as book #1 but it was still a solid 3.5 to 4 stars. Part 2 and 3 of a Melissa F. Miller Trilogy featuring Pittsburgh Lawyer Sasha McCandless as she gets involved in a small town, big oil company conflict, aggravated with local politicians using their positions to feather their nests. And she takes on the defense of the husbands of two lawyers from here old law office who have been charged with the murders of their wives. Good legal tales with action spots as Sasha, who is barely 5 ft. tall and 100 lbs takes on bad guys twice her size using her krav maga training.

This is the third book in the Sasha McCandless series that I've read and I've enjoyed them all.

The series is now well developed and you can't wait to see the next case brings.
