Congress is not all the same. Both parties are not both responsible for the dysfunction in Washington. The Republicans are the obstructionists and have been since Obama took office. They are willing and able to shut down the government to uphold the singular goal of seeing to Obama's failure. The data is astounding and tells the tale. Sad commentary on the destruction of our democracy by right-wing extremists. A well thought out and accurate look at just how horribly dis functional our government is today, and how much the modern (or should I say post-modern?) Republican Party is to blame. The only unfortunate part is that the "solutions" presented by the authors seem to be pipe dreams. We are no longer a country of "can do" and "community"' but rather one of self interest and, well self interest. Big problems like ours don't get solved who everyone in DC (and I mean Republicans) are driven by their own worries of reelection.
I got bored in a few places as there is significant detail. Still accessible for this non-American.
