I've Got You Under My Skin (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
I'm a fan of Mary Higgins Clark (or I used to be), but I struggled through this story. I liked the potential of the plot and the characters, but it wasn't realized. Not sure if it was the voice or the pacing, but it felt more like a slow telling of events with no suspense. A lot of the information about the characters was repeated numerous times and if it was boring the first time, it didn't get more interesting with each retelling. I also had major issues with the ease of how one of the "bad" characters was able to obtain information and do things.I don't recommend this one and I've found that I don't look forward to her books anymore. Its been a while since I read a MHC book. I wanted to read this one because the main character, Laurie Moran, is in the new book, "The Cinderella Murder" that has been co-written with Alafair Burke. I really enjoy the story line. Its starts with the murder of Laurie's husband as their 5 year old son watched. The murder's message was "Your mother is next and then you". A couple of years later Laurie is working with a production crew to help solve a cold case by televising a recreation of that day with all the original participants. As the book progresses you know you have to try and figure out from the 9 main characters who did it. I took two guesses, one who I thought it was and 2 who I'd like it to be. Turns out My guess on who I'd like it to be was the right guess. Now I am reading "The Cinderella Murder".

I really enjoyed this one and did not see the twist at the end! Love it when that happens!!!

Incoherent plot and contrived dialogue. Nothing about this book made any sense. Skip it.
