She arrived on time for work every day, even though the early alarm clock buzzing always managed to wake her right in the middle of a good dream. Sometimes, she dreamed of Pete Kaminsky. She imagined his broad chest all bare and hard-muscled and his arms with their thick biceps holding her against his body. The scent of him haunted her dreams. Every day she learned more about him, saw new facets of his personality and grew more attracted to him both physically and emotionally. She wanted him badly. In fact, she couldn't remember ever wanting a man like this before. Bud had been appealing more for his position as a studly jock than for his achievements or intelligence. And the few fellows she'd dated while in college had been callow and wouldn't have made good husband material. A husband was what she wanted; someone she could take care of and who would respect her for herself, not as a china doll. Although she enjoyed nursing, it was a far second on her list of things to do with her life in the long-term.
