Jerk, California was a decent book. The book basically tells the story of Sam and his experience with Tourette's Syndrome. After his friend dies, he was given a map, and he sets out on a road trip to learn the truth about his family and his inherited syndrome. In my opinion, the book was very slow in the beginning. All the excitement doesn't start till you get to the middle. Sure I liked the middle to the end part a little, but I didn't really like the book overall. I would recommend this to someone who likes a slow book. Oh my gosh!Just finished this book. It was so amazing. It took me two days to read it! The part where no one claps at his graduation broke my heart.I love Sam Carrier's transformation into his true identity, Jack Keagan.I could definitely relate with the character's internal struggles, because I,also, have a severe case of Tourette Syndrome. Troubles with self acceptance are hard enough without a lack of social acceptance.Jerk,California is definitely a book I will read over and over and over again.
What do You think about Jerk, California (2008)?
A coming of age story told through the eyes of a boy struggling with Tourette's. Loved this one.
