Did I read the same book as the one that folks gave 4 and 5 stars to?? I was interested in the story but it was in dire need of editing. Is the author British? If set in Seattle, an American really should assist with the editing because it felt unnatural. I did not FEEL any connection between the H & h - he had his secrets, she took care of those in her life - but what drew them together? What will be lost if they go their separate ways? I finished wanting to understand the 4 and 5 star ratings, but I didn't. 1.5 stars .... Don't know that I can get through the next 2 books in the series. I was so excited to read this book before it came out. It started a little slow as some pointed out and when I read it there wasn't too many details about where they lived. That is probably not important to most but I like to really get to know the characters in the books I read. Anyway getting past that, the story was very well written and the characters were interesting and easy for me to relate to. Savannah meets an amazing guy but doesn't know how close to let herself get to him, she is also dealing with her brother being in jail and *things* with her bestfriend. The author did a good job keeping enough onto and story on the background characters so that there was enough to keep you interested in the whole book. Can't wait to read the next.
