I would recommend this book to all the parent who love to read a bed time book to their children. Even though it doesn’t have pictures its still a very funny and goofy book to read to your kids, or just anyone who wants to be entertained. My favorite character was Junnie B. Jones. She is one funny and crazy kindergartner who loves to have fun and just get in trouble. In this book she does so many funny things that you would never imagine a kindergarten girl would do. But it’s very entertaining. I don’t like the little boy whose name is Meanie Jim. He is so loud and rude. He is always making fun of Junnie B. Jones and she just gets so tired of him at the field trip! I don’t know. I think her intention was to have kids start reading but to make sure the kids who are reading the book are reading about something fun and entertaining to them and let them have a good time reading the book! When she went to the farm and she practically to the little chicken and sticked it in her pocket I think that was so cute because she was saying she was the chickens mommy. I kept reading this book because I saw that it was full of fun and just very cute and funny things that the little girl kept doing. There was not really an ending to the book. But yes I could because she was going to get caught anyways, I mean the farm was going to find out the little chicken was gone. Even though she wanted to see the roosters! Well I think a little blonde girl that can act out Junnie B. Jones scene. Like if the Olsen twins were still little girls I think they would play a perfect part. The emotions the books made me feel were laughter and happiness and just I would honestly say this is a good book that you have to read it so that you know what it feels like. Its one of those books you just cant stop reading and you keep reading till its done and you go “ahhh what a good book”. My favorite line from the book was the beginning it was when Junnie B. Jones said, “Hello my name is Junnie B. Jones and I’m in Kindergarten. The B stands for Beatrice but I don’t like Beatrice I just like B. and that’s all.”
Plot: Junie B. Jones has a peep in her pocket is about a young girl who is afraid of going to the farm as a class field trip. She remembers all these horrible things that she had seen on TV or even real life. Like, she thinks that the horses and ponies are going to trample over her and that the roosters are going to peck her head and make it a nub. When her parents finally calm her down and tell her nothing is going to happen, she still thinks that something else could happen so she says that she is going to be sick the day they go the the farm. Her mother makes her go and when she gets there the farmer tells her that she can help in showing the other kids about each animal. She gets really excited and tells everyone what to do because she thinks that she is in charge of everyone because she is with the farmer. She ends up taking home a baby chicken and hiding it in her pocket. She realizes that the baby chicken will turn into a rooster and she is not afraid of roosters anymore.Characterization:Junie is a crazy, outgoing, six year old kindergartner. She says what she wants to and she acts whatever she feels like it. Sometimes she gets carried away and does things before she acts out. When she said she was afraid of going to the farm I was shocked because most kids love to see different kinds of animals. But after I read about her reasoning I was impressed that she knew most of what it meant.Audience:I would recommend this book to elementary kids because this is their kind of level books.They would probably like this series a lot because they could connected with the main character and the life style they live. Their age would be kind of the same as the main character and they could really connect.Rate:I would rate this book a three out of five stars because I liked it and it was a very easy book to read.
The Junie B. Jones series was one of my absolute favorites growing up. Junie B. Jones Has a Peep in Her Pocket was the very first book from the series I ever read. I feel like kids can relate to Junie B. while reading because I feel like she has a lot of thoughts that most young kids share. This particular is about Junie B. and her entire Kindergarten class taking a field trip to a dairy farm. At first Junie B. is very apprehensive because this is her very first field trip! She even says that she doesn't want to go at all. After being forced to go by her parents Junie B. ends up loving the trip and even tries to take a baby peep home in her pocket! I would suggest this book to any parent that wants a longer story to read to their kid or any child who is ready to take the big step to reading small chapter books.;

Junie B. Jones’ Room Nine kindergarten class is going on a field trip to an animal farm! Except Junie B. does not want to go, first she is scared of ponies, and then she is scared of roosters! It takes lots of explaining and patience to show Junie B. that those animals can be really nice. Most schools go on a field trip sometime during the year and this book can totally gear them up for it. This book could be used to accompany a lesson about farm animals. Some animals can be really nice, even if you think they are mean. I remember taking a field trip to our local fair and seeing lots of animals mentioned in this book.

This book introduced my daughter and me to the Junie B. Jones series. While I am not a huge fan of the bad grammar etc. this series has definitely introduced my daughter to the joys of reading chapter books and started many conversations about the fun of language and how we all play with language on a daily basis. I think she can relate to Junie B. -- particularly because my daughter just started kindergarten. I enjoy seeing Kaye blossom into a reader and have learned to get over the horrible grammar etc.
