Kankanın Av Rehberi: Yeni Başlayanlar İçin Tavlama Sanatı (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
A fictional self-help book with a fictional author has all the potential to be a disaster. For a book based purely on a comic premise, it generated for me only one belly-laugh and a few chuckles. I suppose I didn't expect much, but the first laugh issued forth from me when he rated players in their level of 'Don'ness, starting with Don Juan and working down to Don Knotts. The second laugh came from the first play, the SNASA play (Secret National Aeronautics and Space Administration) where the player explains that he does secret space missions. We were up 3/4ths through the book before I laughed again.So overall, I'm not sad that I read it. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece. I just wanted to take a little break from all the serious literature I read for a few laughs. Alas there were only a few. Being a fan and an avid viewer of How I Met Your Mother series, I know what this book is all about and not all of it has been performed by Barney in the show. Although, I have no doubt that Barney has performed these numerous times in real life. As for the book, it is well-written by the author like a recipe or a spell book. However, I also find it boring in some parts. I guess I am expecting it to be more legendary but I feel like it was hang in the "wait for it" part, if you know what I mean. I love the character and confidence of Barney Stintson and it clearly showed in the book. I still love the show, the writer, and Barney even if I did not enjoy the book.

Very fun if you like the series. It is easy to read and amusing all along. Simply legendary!
