This was...interesting. The story is set in the world of gay porn and honestly I thought I'd find it repulsive. But I didn't. While I enjoyed the story and finished with a good feeling, I can say that some of the epilogue had me a bit turned off from the story. While there was a sense of pain involved in the end, I won't spoil too much, I felt the pain the MC's experienced was glossed over and could have been expanded upon. It was still a very good novel and I'd recommend it. You know, I'm not usually a fan of porn based books. They tend to be all about the sex (sometimes too damn dirty to be enjoyed) and not have enough plot or emotion. That wasn't the case here. This book was primarily about Bran and Evan's growing attraction and love. Yes, there were porn filming scenes in the story, but they were well written, didn't dominate the story, and led to some pretty hot imaginings. And I really liked Bran and adored Evan. They had great chemistry and just clicked from the start. I even liked the other guys involved in the porn shoots, especially Colt, who was a great friend to Evan. Definitely glad I put aside my own doubts and decided to read this one.
What do You think about Keeping Sweets (2013)?
3.5 starsThe end is too sappy for my jaded self.
