Killer A Jack Rhodes Mystery (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
This is not a book for most of my goodreads friends. If I hadn't been sucked into the plot, I probably wouldn't have finished it. Very violent and very full of F words. So-- if those things don't bother you then you can continue with this review ** stop here for spoilers*** The main character in the story is an author who writes books about a killer. It turns out that the stories he has written are all true. When the author was drunk a deranged murderer came to him to tell him the stories. The author didn't remember this and he thought that the ideas were his own. The books became best sellers and that is what the murderer wanted-- fame. Now the police think that the author did the killings and he is on the run from the police and he is trying to save the last girl in the book that isn't published yet. The climax is very thrilling and tense. There is a great last minute plot twist. We think that the killer is caught and he turns up again ready to kill the author. but the author kills him instead. It was a great murder mystery except for the language. I don't think I will listen to any more by this author. One of those books that sucks you in until you finish. It can be graphic, so if you are squeamish, you won't like it. I, am not squeamish, and loved it. (Don't judge) Anyway, lots of plot twists but the writing is pretty good for a first time novelist. Once summer comes, I'll give the sequel a shot. Thanks to the lending library at Amazon.com! Though I wouldn't mind having this one on my permanent "ebook" shelf.
What do You think about Killer A Jack Rhodes Mystery (2000)?
Good but definitely a disturbing serial killer story. Good plot, not your average murder mystery.
